System engineering and multiphase flow in oil and gas industry

Abstract :
Traditional engineering activity for process plant design and construction moves through different stages. These are feasibility and concept selection, basic or FEED engineering and conclude with detailed-engineering. It is illustrated how the process is improved by adoption of Modelica based tools. In particular, it is outlined how technical aspects such as multiphase flow and phase equilibrium can be linked to system design analysis.
