The FASTPROOF project is a collaboration between the companies ENI, Saipem and Eurobios, with some academic researchers involved. The goal of FASTPROOF is to combine physics simulation of the fluid flows (single or two-phase flows) inside the various components of an oil plant (pipes, risers, junctions, oil-gas separators) with a simulation of costs and risks (failure, price variation). The physics part uses the Modelica language that is able to represent the systems as sets of  algebraic differential equations. The cost and risk modeling is based on Monte-Carlo methods to compute statistics of the facility behavior, over several months or weeks. Results after the project's first year are presented.
